(finger-)ring[edit source]

Does that source specifically rule out nazg referring to other sorts of circular things? If so, the "Valarin" theory in the Etymology section doesn't make sense and should be removed (it's badly sourced anyway).

Also, might I suggest rephrasing

Nazg means "(finger-)ring" in the Black Speech

to

Nazg means "ring" (as in an item of jewellery worn on the finger) in the Black Speech

for the sake of clarity... and to avoid the innuendo :P —Aulë the Smith (Tk·Cb) 17:12, 28 August 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yeah, the statement would need a better source - is it from a linguistic article?

I'm removing the Valarin connection now, as an authoritative etymology of nazg has been published in PE 19. (BTW, the Valarin source was an essay by Fauskanger, "Valarin - like the glitter of swords"). --Morgan 18:53, 16 December 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
