::The ring was precious to Finrod before the Dagor Bragollach, so he might have worn it for some time before the battle. The Elessar was lost at some point because the jewel born by Aragorn was a lesser copy of the original. So we're down to the ring and two blades. Anyone else have another candidate? --Ebakunin 14:46, 4 June 2006 (EDT)

I just realized something: Other than the palantíri (supposedly made by Fëanor himself), is the Ring of Barahir the oldest item in Middle-earth by the time of the War of the Ring? --Ebakunin 14:05, 4 June 2006 (EDT)

Unless Glamdring and Orcrist were forged in Gondolin before the Dagor Bragollach, which I believe is highly possible. At the moment I cannot think of others - though the Elessar might be one. --Narfil Palùrfalas 14:13, 4 June 2006 (EDT)
The ring was precious to Finrod before the Dagor Bragollach, so he might have worn it for some time before the battle. The Elessar was lost at some point because the jewel born by Aragorn was a lesser copy of the original. So we're down to the ring and two blades. Anyone else have another candidate? --Ebakunin 14:46, 4 June 2006 (EDT)
This would be a good candidate for a Minas Tirith or Barrow-downs thread... --Narfil Palùrfalas 14:48, 4 June 2006 (EDT)
