I'm wondering, what categories should he be in? -- Ederchil 11:21, 26 July 2008 (EDT)

Hmmm...Men? Second Age? Gondor? I'm not quite sure either...But the rest of the family tree is coming right up. ~~ Þelma 11:41, 26 July 2008 (EDT)
Remember to use the family tree template. It's difficult at first, but fun later. -- Ederchil 11:57, 26 July 2008 (EDT)

Move from Tal-Elmar to Tal-elmar

The user Dour1234 who had already temporarily been blocked in the past, moved the page Tal-Elmar to Tal-elmar without proposing the move on the Talk page before moving it. When Dour1234 moved the page, he left the following comment in the Summary box "In the story "Tal-Elmar", he is called Tal-elmar with a lowercase "e"". This claim by the user Dour1234 is not correct. In the chapter XVII. TAL-ELMAR in The Peoples of Middle-earth both "Tal-Elmar" (with a capital "E") and "Tal-elmar" with a lower case "e" are used. In the manuscript with the title "Continuation of Tal-Elmar" from January 1955 J.R.R. Tolkien only used "Tal-Elmar" (twentyone times) and does not use "Tal-elmar". Christopher Tolkien even wrote the comment "(as the name is now written)" after he mentioned the title "Continuation of Tal-Elmar" that was written on the manuscript. In the typescript from the 1950s with the beginning of the story J.R.R. Tolkien only used "Tal-elmar" (twentyeight times) and did not use "Tal-Elmar". Since J.R.R. Tolkien consistently used the spelling "Tal-Elmar" in his later writings from January 1955, the page about the character on Tolkien Gateway should have the title "Tal-Elmar" in my opinion. --Akhorahil 10:23, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I'll check TPOME when I can and undo these edits. Maybe I agree with having "Tal-elmar", because that's what the Index has. Anycase, moving via copypasting is unfortunate and having "(character)" in the article title is useless and against the MoS. --LorenzoCB 20:53, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
