Memo from the Dept. of Nitpicking: This article says that Bilbo called Smaug "the Magnificent". Actually, Bilbo calls him "Your Magnificence" just before he scampers up the tunnel (followed by a blast of fire from the dragon). Should a separate article be made due to the difference between an adjective and a noun, or should this article be edited a bit, or is it OK as is (with a reference added)? -- Gamling 23:20, 21 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I noticed this when I did the Smaug article; it really bugged me that "The Magnificent" crops up everywhere but no where in the text. Is this an example of fanon? +1 for deleting this. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 23:25, 21 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
;) +1 for deleting it altogether. It's not properly a "title", just a honorary name used by Bilbo once, as far as I can understand.--Morgan 23:26, 21 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oh my, yes we should delete this. -- KingAragorn  talk  contribs  edits  email  23:29, 21 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Are we still going with a delete, seeing as the Smaug reference has been entirely purged? --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 09:05, 24 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Or turn it into a redirect to Merry? He was called the Magnificent. -- Ederchil (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 09:32, 24 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
