Tar-Anducal was the royal name assumed by Herucalmo after the death of his wife, Tar-Vanimeldë, the third Ruling Queen of Númenor. Anducal means "Light of the West".

Tar-Vanimeldë had little interest in her duties as a ruler (preferring to indulge in music and dance). The power of the Sceptre was wielded by her younger husband (also a descendant in the same degree from Tar-Atanamir). When his wife died, Herucalmo usurped the kingship that should have passed on to their son and ruled Númenor for twenty years until he died in S.A. 2657. Upon his death the Kingship reverted to the rightful heir, Tar-Alcarin.[1]
