Tarondor (T.A. 1577[1] - 1798,[2] aged 221 years) was the twenty-seventh King of Gondor.

History

Tarondor became the King of Gondor when his uncle Telemnar and all of his children died in the year of the Great Plague, in T.A. 1636.[2] During the plague most of the people of Osgiliath fled the city for the western dales or the woods of Ithilien, and Tarondor permanently relocated the king's house to Minas Anor. There he planted a seedling of the White Tree in the citadel, and undertook the task of reordering the realm and nursing its strength. Due to the depopulation of Gondor the watch on Mordor ceased.[3]
