"Tauriel" is a concept which has only appeared in an adaptation of the works of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Tauriel was a Silvan Elf of Mirkwood. Her character was invented by Peter Jackson for The Hobbit films and will be played by Evangeline Lilly.[1]

Etymology

"Tauriel" means 'daughter of Mirkwood'.[1]
