Should this template be deleted now login is requried to edit?  Myrtonos  forum  c   ec  at 08:44, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

No, as the login requirement is only a "temporary" measure. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 11:24, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Should it be temporary? How about getting a consensus before restoring anonymous editing. Logging in to edit increases privacy as the IP address is not recorded in the edit history. This extension will make account creation easier. --  Myrtonos  forum  c   ec  11:56, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Having discussed this thoroughly last summer, I would say that it is accurate to say that there is already a consensus that it should be temporary. I, along with others, only reluctantly agreed to the current measures on the basis that it were temporary. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 12:20, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I didn't realise it had already been discussed, will all those people change their minds if the OpenID extension were installed. --  Myrtonos  forum  c   ec  12:40, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I'd suggest putting it on agenda for the next meeting (bearing in mind, however, that there is already a long extensions-to-be-installed queue). --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 12:45, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I wasn't there but atendees voted against the OpenID extension, but I still don't see why uploading files (which does require logging in) shouldn't require email confirmation. --  Myrtonos  forum  c   ec  11:09, 9 February 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
