Tharzog is a character in The Lord of the Rings: War in the North and the first boss of that game. He was the chieftain of the Orcs of Mount Gram.[1]
History
Tharzog was an Orc chieftain from Mount Gram that served underAgandaûr. In Fornost, Tharzog acted as the chief lieutenant of Agandaûr and assembled a host of Orcs and Goblins in preparation for his master's conquest of the North.[2] When Eradan, Andriel, Farin, Elladan and Elrohir infiltrated Fornost, Tharzog was the one who told Agandaûr that there were intruders and that Beleram - a captured Eagle - had been freed. Mocked for his troops' poor ability to stop the enemy, Tharzog blew his horn to call the guards. He noticed the intruders trying to sneak into the Citadel tower, after which he ordered the closing the gate to the top of the tower. This seperated Eradan, Andriel and Farin from Elladan and Elrohir. The latter confronted Agandaûr, while Tharzog and his guard fought the earlier. Despite his brute strength, Tharzog was slain and his guard was slaughtered.[1]
Personality
Like many other Orcs and Goblins residing in Fornost, Tharzog was very fearful of Agandaûr, shown by how uncomfortable he felt in the latter's presence and how he genuinely studdered when reporting the presence of intruders. He was both very strong and quick, and was therefore most feared - with the sole exception of Agandaûr - of all creatures in Fornost.[2]
