The Giant is a character in Farmer Giles of Ham, noted for his uglyness, dumbness and deafness. At the beginning of the story, the Giant is lost from his home in the Wild Hills and tramples Farmer Giles' fields, crops and cattle, including his beloved cow Galathea. After Giles shot at him with his blunderbuss, he ran off never to bother the town of Ham again.

However his mentioning of the bees and stings to Chrysophylax (actually the slag from Giles' blunderbuss), caused the dragon to visit Ham.

Portrayal in adaptations

The Giant is voiced by the writer of the screenplay, Brian Sibley.
