The Hobbit is a 1989 graphic novel, originally published in three parts. It was adapted from the original by Charles Dixon, and illustrated by David T. Wenzel.

In January 1990, they were bound as one, and a revised edition was published in 2006.

Parts

The three published parts were called Book One, Book Two and Book Three (only so on the book's spine; nothing is seen on the front cover). The three parts are numbered continuously: part one comprises pages 1 to 44 (up until the riddle-game), part two pages 45 to 88 (up until the rafts of the Lake-men), and part three pages 89 to 133.

From the Publisher (revised edition)

The Hobbit is the story of Bilbo Baggins, a quiet and contented Hobbit whose life is turned upside down when he joins the wizard Gandalf and thirteen dwarves on their quest to reclaim stolen treasure.

It is a journey fraught with danger - and in the end Bilbo alone must face the guardian of the treasure, the most dreaded dragon in all Middle-earth...

J.R.R. Tolkien's enchanting prulude to The Lord of the Rings is one of the best-loved books of all time. Carefully abridged and beautifully painted, David Wenzel's graphic novel has become a best-selling classic in its own right.

With more than 30 pages of new artwork and improvements by the artist, this new revised edition has been newly rescanned from the original paintings to produce the most authentic version ever published, to delight Hobbit fans old and new.
