The Lord of the Rings is a pinball machine by Stern Pinball. It is licensed merchandise of The Lord of the Rings (film series), released in 2003. The creation process of the machine was documented in How It's Made episode 9.02.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

The game has three multiballs, named after the three films:

The Fellowship of the Ring
The Two Towers
  • Spell "K-E-E-P" and lock three balls to start. Hit all jackpots to complete.
The Return of the King
  • Collect 5000 souls on the "Path of the Dead" and shoot Orthanc, Barad-Dûr or Gollum Cave to start. Score all jackpots to complete.
Other objectives
  • Escape the Ringwraiths
  • Gandalf vs Saruman
  • Warg Battle
  • War of the Ents
  • Attack of Shelob
  • Kill the Witchking

Completing all lights the bonus mode "There and Back Again".
