Third Age 3001 (abbreviated to T.A. 3001) is the 3001st year of the Sun of the Third Age of Middle-earth. Third Age 3001 was also known as S.R. 1401 in Shire-reckoning.
Notable events in this year include:

- Gaffer Gamgee, Old Noakes, Daddy Twofoot, Sandyman and other strangers are at the Ivy Bush and gossip about Bilbo and Frodo Baggins.[1]
- (two days later) Rumors begin that Bilbo's party will have fireworks.[1]
- A Dwarf-wagon loaded with packages comes to Bag End.[1]
- c. 15[2] - Gandalf rides a cart over the Brandywine Bridge, through Bywater and reaches Bag End.[1]
- The following day and week more wagons and carts arrive. Bilbo sends orders for provisions from the neighboring regions.[1]
