The name Tim refers to more than one character, item or concept. For a list of other meanings, see Tim (disambiguation).

Tim, said to be the "nuncle" of Tom Bombadil, is only mentioned in verse composed by Sam Gamgee. In the poem, Tom encounters an old troll, gnawing on the shinbone of Tim.[1][2] Most likely, Tim was only an invention by the poet.[3]
