Tolkien on Tolkien is the title of a newspaper article published in Diplomat, New York, vol. 18, no. 197 (October 1966). The article is a text composed from elements contained in J.R.R. Tolkien's autobiographical statement prepared for Houghton Mifflin[1] and three parapraphs from a 1963 letter to Nancy Smith.
"Tolkien on Tolkien" is analyzed in The J.R.R. Tolkien Companion and Guide: Reader's Guide (by Wayne G. Hammond and Christina Scull).[2]
