Trewsday (archaic form Trewesdei) was the fourth day of the week in the Shire Calendar. It represented the Númenórean day Orgaladh, originally dedicated to the tree Nimloth.[1]

After the reform of Isengrim Took II,[1] dates such as 1 February and 1 August always fell on Trewsday.

Etymology

Trewsday represents an archaic Hobbitish form "Trewesdei", a word preserved in the Yellowskin.[1]

Trewsday is translated as "Tuesday " in The Lord of the Rings.[1]
