My name is not a misspelling of Eldarion (Aragorn and Arwen's son), but is the name of a role-playing character I maintain on a Tolkien roleplaying site.  It means either "son of the star-land" (Numenor) or "son of the elf-land" ("El" can mean either), a duality that is fitting as he is half Gondorian and half elven.

I first read  The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings< several years ago, after the movies came out but before I saw them.  I later read The Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales, much of The History of Middle-earth, and The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien.  I enjoy reading and learning about Middle-earth bery much.
The Movies
I am fairly critical of a number of changes made by Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens to LOTR, and I feel like they lack an understanding of the story in several places (including the Dead Men of Dunharrow and the Grey Havens.  I also think that the films could have been imrpoved as movies.
Nonetheless, I am still a fan of the movies, and have watched all three very long Extended Editions multiple times.  I just like the books better.

Hello. I am Eldorion, a Tolkien fan who's interested in online encyclopedias (not just about Tolkien) who wanted to try to help improve one that is about something he knows a fair deal on.

Name

My name is not a misspelling of Eldarion (Aragorn and Arwen's son), but is the name of a role-playing character I maintain on a Tolkien roleplaying site. It means either "son of the star-land" (Numenor) or "son of the elf-land" ("El" can mean either), a duality that is fitting as he is half Gondorian and half elven.
