Images

We have rules about images, both in naming and tagging. See here for an example. Also, make sure the images are at least 300px wide. --Ederchil ^{(Talk/Contribs/Edits)} 13:24, 28 December 2013 (UTC)

OK, gotcha. I'm still trying to feel my way through this whole image posting thing. Obviously I need more practice. Feel free to delete any files I uploaded that won't work. Thanks.—Unsigned comment by BalrogTrainer (talk • contribs).

Could I also add that all images should be categorised and have a licence template attached. When you upload an image there is a "Licensing" dropdown menu to select which copyright template to attach to the file (in this case Warner Bros.); all images must have a licensing template for copyright reasons. As for categories, we have standard naming conventions:

• Characters/locations/events - these always take the form of [[Category:Images of XXX]] where "XXX" is the name of the character/location/event;
• Adaptations - these always take the form of [[Category:Images from XXX]] where "XXX" is the name of the adaptation in the same format as the article. For example, the 1978 film of The Lord of the Rings is "The Lord of the Rings (1978 film)" so the category is "Category:Images from The Lord of the Rings (1978 film)".

Ideally, you should endeavour to include the adaptation it is from and as many characters/locations/events as depicted in the image. Take a look at the change I just made to the image of Nori you uploaded to see an example of how this works in practice. Thanks for the tip. However, I forgot to do the licencing step for the image of Fíli (and perhaps a couple others) that I just uploaded.  : / If you could amend this, it would be much appreciated.

Stubbing scenes

If you create a scene article, can you at least include more info on it than just "it's a scene"? Preferably, a page should look like this, with info on length and stuff. --Ederchil ^{(Talk/Contribs/Edits)} 13:21, 4 July 2014 (UTC)
