Welcome

Hello, here you can any questions comments, things that you discovered, anything, but it must be about Middle-Earth and helping Tolkien Gateway. Vaire

Some ideas: Ok to make Tolkien Gateway a better wiki is we got to resourch things we don't know in Tolkiens books, and we also have to read the appendics and letters to know about some of the charaters history, because in some charator pages there is nothing in the history part because Tolkien never wrote about their history, but we shouldn't leave it blank. Most of them we know when they where born and if a parent or sibling dies in their history we know when that happens, but we don't know anything else, like Éowyn, we know that her father dies when she was young and she the went to live with her uncle, but we don't know anything else about her history. So to we need to resouch about what happened.- Vaire

Hello and welcome, Vaire! I'm glad to see that you have many ideas and that you want to improve Tolkien Gateway (TG). Some things to think about: while it might be interesting to speculate on what could have happened, this wiki is not really the place to do it. To me, it sounds more like such a project would be suited for a fan fiction website. Here on TG we try to be very strict about only adding information which can be found in a source (such as The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, etc). You will likely find that any attempt to add speculation (or even information without a reference) will be reverted. This is not because we want to be mean; it's just because we have certain standards.--Morgan 19:10, 27 June 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

See here. However, if you're new to editing wikis, you may want to go over Help and the Manual of Style first. --Ederchil (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 07:03, 27 June 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Edits

I can understand you're new to editing a wiki, but so far, we've had to clean up just about all your edits. (And by "clean up", I mean undo.) Please read the two pages I've linked you to above, and also check out wikipedia's page on Help. --Ederchil (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 07:21, 27 June 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
