'Valandur was the eighth King of Arnor.
History
He succeeded his father, Tarondor, to the throne in 602.
Little record remained of his reign, except that he suffered a violent but mysterious death after a rule of fifty years. He was succeeded by his son, Elendur, upon his death in T.A. 652.
Etymology
Valandur's name is Quenya for "Servant of the Valar" from Valar, and the suffix -dur meaning "servant of, devoted to".
