Wiseman Gamwich was the son of Hamfast, who took his name from his traditional family home in the village of Gamwich. Wiseman removed from Gamwich, though, to Tighfield. He was the great-great-grandfather of Sam Gamgee of the Fellowship of the Ring and father of Hob Gammidge.
