Category talk:Images of Peter Jackson's The Return of the King

[edit] Category name

I think we've already talked about this, but as I'm still not decided: Should images from The Lord of the Rings (film series) be "Images of..." or "Images from..."? "from" makes more sense but "of" would be more standard with all the other "Images of..." categories. --Hyarion 00:43, 22 June 2007 (EDT)

[edit] Screen captures

This category is the beginning of a collection of around 2,000 images from the film, I have sets for the other two films as well. First question: is 2,000 per film too many? You can see how often the screen captures were taken from the currently uploaded images. I would really like it if we had a full set of images we could just use to include whatever image we need, instead of everyone having to upload different size/quality/named images. I guess we could use a smaller set of images but the smaller it gets the more likely we will miss a scene which defeats the whole purpose. Then again, maybe I'm just crazy. What do you guys think? --Hyarion 00:43, 22 June 2007 (EDT)

I think 2k may be too many. Another issue would be taking screen captures from too regular intervals. I think that in most cases, one good shot of each character (or groups of characters) from each scene would be best. For example i notice there's a fair few of merry and pippin sitting on the wall of Isengard at various points, personally i think you could just get away with a single good shot of that moment in the film. There are innumerable sites where screen caps for every second are available, we just need a few good images to complement the articles. Dr Death 04:21, 22 June 2007 (EDT)
