Emyn Duir

Emyn Duir was the former name for the range of hills that ran west to east through the northern parts of the forest of Greenwood the Great. At the beginning of the second millennium of the Third Age, a shadow began to fall across the Forest, and across the Dark Mountains, too. Then they gained a new name, Emyn-nu-Fuin, translated as the 'Mountains of Mirkwood'.
