Fastred married Elanor Gardner in Fo.A. 30. Together they had a son, Elfstan, and a daughter Fíriel.
He was made Warden of Westmarch in Fo.A. 34 by Thain Peregrin Took, and he relocated to the Undertowers with his family.
Fastred in Old English means "fast-rede, firm-counsel".
