Dear Mr. Tolkien:
First, let me say I am a fan of your father's work. He did godlike work in creating a coherent beautiful, meaningful fantasy world. He did a godlike job. Second, let me say that I consider you to be the true author of the Silmarillion; your father provided the raw material, but you created the finished work.
Incidentally, I believe Peter Jackson went all out to create a good movie, based on your father's work. The sad thing is that it got the character of Galadriel wrong--Cate Blanchett is more like Celebrian than like Galadriel.
Galadriel is a war goddess--kind, honorable, just, true, and a deadly warrior and general; Celebrian is a deeply injured, wounded, but honorable woman.
Sincerely,
John Lee
