On 9 December 1965, J.R.R. Tolkien wrote a letter to Jane Dixon of Ohio.[1]
- Subject: Tolkien is grateful for Dixon having sent him a copy of an article in the Saturday Review about the Ace Books edition of The Lord of the Rings. He also writes that neither he nor his publishers (George Allen and Unwin) intend to give Walt Disney permission to make a film of his books.[1]
