Spyhill

Spyhill was the great mound that Finrod Felagund had built one league east of Nargothrond and the River Narog, from which his spies could watch over the plain of Talath Dirnen. Its Elvish name was Amon Ethir (which is translated 'Hill of Spies' in The Silmarillion, but 'Spyhill' in the Narn i Hîn Húrin). After the Fall of Nargothrond, it was here that Nienor Níniel was ensnared by the Dragon Glaurung, and all memory of her previous life was lost.
