1944: It seems to mee, reading the letter 66 (written on Saturday, May 6), that Tolkien rather refers to the previous day, that is: Friday, May 5, when he writes about inventing Faramir (and spending the morning writing the story). But even this is not certain: Faramir's exact "birthday" is not preciely stated, I think. --Tik 19:49, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
