Talk:Araval

It's stated in the article: "There are two suggested etymologies for Araval's name: ...". This wording indicates that someone has suggested these etymologies - do we have a source for this, or is it good guessing by TG members (which of course is okay for me as long as we denote it as such)? --Morgan 22:24, 29 December 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

My guess it's TG. Anyway, Ruth S. Noel has "Lord of Power", Robert Foster has "Royal---". Salo suggested "King of Gold" in Elfling message 30680 and 30687, and supports his guess by noting the similarity with Argeleb, "Lord of Silver". I (still) don't have "An Introduction to Elvish", so I can't check that one. -- Ederchil (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 22:38, 29 December 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks for quick answer! I'll try to make some references out of that info. --Morgan 22:53, 29 December 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Jim Allan says that Araval is "Golden-king" (p. 72). --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 23:15, 29 December 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
