Talk:Fourth Age 43

This is not right. S.R. 1422 = T.A. 3022 = Fo.A. 1. The year Fourth Age 43 is, therefore, S.R. 1464. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 16:14, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, most Fourth Age years are a mess. It's because of the difference in switch between the different calendars. In some, the new year started in March 3019, but in others, not until (IIRC) 3021... --Ederchil (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 16:25, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
The vast majority of dates in the Fourth Age we have (mostly from Appendices B and C) are given in the Shire Reckoning of the Fourth Age (S.R. 1422 = Fo.A. 1) as opposed to the Gondorian usage (March T.A. 3021 - March T.A. 3022 = Fo.A. 1). If we just stick with the Shire usage (as we do in other matters) then it keeps everything neat and tidy and straightforward. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 16:33, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
We do have one FoA year, don't we? Aragorn died in 120, probably by Gondor Reckoning. --Ederchil (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 16:36, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
Also note the contradictions found by Gamling.-- KingAragorn  talk  contribs  edits  email  16:54, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
