[edit] How to name a game
Does anyone have any suggestions for naming a game? Here are some options we have:
- The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (PC)
- The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (Computer)
- The Return of the King (PC)
- The Return of the King (Computer)
- LotR: RotK (PC)
- LotR: RotK (Computer)
Of the above I would most likely choose The Return of the King (PC) with The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (PC) coming in second. But unfortunately it doesn't end there. There have been multiple PC games with that title. We can either add in the year as well, or add in the publisher.
- EA's The Return of the King (PC)
- The Return of the King (EA) (PC)
- The Return of the King by EA (PC)
- The Return of the King (2006) (PC)
- The Return of the King (PC) (2006)
Of the above I would most likely choose EA's The Return of the King (PC) with The Return of the King (EA) (PC) coming in second. While the year is something most likely easier to come by, especially for older games when the publisher is unknown, but the EA's The Return of the King (PC) kind of goes with our Peter Jackson's The Return of the King.
Then comes the issue with the older games prior to the PC, I suppose we'll just have to put (386) or whatever. Since we abbreviate "Personal Computer" I assume we'll abbreviate consoles to...well I guess we can't abbreviate "Xbox", then there's "GC", and "PS", "GBA", "PS2", "PS3", "Wii", "X360" (or Xbox 360), etc.
I am probably taking this too far and should just pick one but there are so many games it is probably best to have a good standard. What do you guys think? --Hyarion 20:27, 22 August 2006 (EDT)
[edit] Lord of the Rings Miniature game
The Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game site can by found here. Besides including a lot of movie Fanon, I was wondering if it was all right to upload the pictures of the game pieces. Wikipedia has one or two. --Narfil Palùrfalas 16:45, 28 August 2006 (EDT)
- It would be more than alright! Eventually I'd like to see an image of every single miniature GW created, they have some fantastic pieces. Same goes for Mithril, Sideshow Weta, Decipher's cards, etc. If it's Tolkien-related, it belongs here :) Lately I've been working on getting images of all the LotR TCG cards, then I'll work on the Sketch cards and RPG cards.
