neithan

neithan is a Sindarin word meaning "one who is deprived".^[1] When Túrin dwelt among the Gaurwaith, he used it along with the alias "The Wronged".^[2]

Etymology

neithan is derived from root NEK ("deprive"). Its Quenya cognate is nehtanō.^[3]
