Tolkien Google logo petition

The Tolkien Google logo petition is an attempt which hopes to convince Google that a J.R.R. Tolkien-themed logo should be present on January 3rd, his birthday. This is not some forceful tactic we think will overwhelm Google into abiding by our geeky wishes but simply a fun little idea that we thought would be cool.

Ideas

• A ring could replace a letter "o".
• The green door of Bag End could replace a letter "o".
• An eye could replace a letter "o".
• The font of the letters could mimic Tolkien's signature.
• An Ent could replace the letter "l".
• A couple of letters could be translated into Tengwar.
• The inside of the "G" could be replaced with lava and Frodo could stand to the top left of the letter preparing to drop the ring into the fire.
• Either replace the initial G with Gandalf's, or, Gandalf's rune and the ring for an 'o'- but a smaller ring.
• Perhaps turn the "l" into the emblem of Gondor (i.e the White Tree of the Kings).
• "Google" could be transcribed completely into Tengwar or dwarf runes.
• The sword Andúril or Narsil could replace the letter "l"
• The tower of Barad-dûr, with the eye, could replace the letter "l".
• Google could appear written with the dwarven alphabet

Conceptual designs

One or more of the above images may be protected by copyright by either the Tolkien Estate, Tolkien Enterprises, New Line Cinema, Google, or other parties. It is believed that the use of the low-resolution images on servers in the United States by the not-for-profit Tolkien Gateway constitutes as Fair use.
