J.R.R. Tolkien wrote a letter to an unknown Dutchman, postmarked 3 April 1958.[1]

  • Subject: A letter of reply to a Dutchman who had invited Tolkien for a cup of tea.
  • Description: Autograph letter, 1 page. Signed as Gandalf above a tengwa ungwë. At the bottom Tolkien wrote "2 Astron" (see Shire Calendar).
