I am an odd creature. 90% of what I read is non-fiction.

Tolkien's extensive mythology speaks to me however. Some knowledge of the creation of Arda and Eä, the events after that and the earlier ages tend to keep a (mostly) non-fiction reader like myself for hours on end. This gives the texts depth I've only otherwise come upon when reading about real world events.

I'm not a theist but Tolkien's creation myth is far more poetic than anything I've encountered in the real world. If I was a more spiritual person I would have liked to believe in something similar to that.
