Welcome![edit source]

Hello Henry, and welcome to Tolkien Gateway! I hope you like the place and choose to join our work. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and we look forward to your future edits. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the Council forums, join our chat or ask me on my talk page. Keep up the great work!

Orderly discussion[edit source]

Hi, Pand, welcome also from me!

I've put some order into the mess you created in the Forums:Tom Bombadil discussion. I understand that you were just doing your best to contribute here, but what you had in fact done was to sign someone else's contribution with your name and put your comment over that person's name, so it looked like it was his comment. That doesn't help matters, unfortunately. Also, indentation (with ::'s) is used to make the order of contributions more easily understood.

Please take a look at how things look now and try to understand how Wiki-discussions ought to be structured. We use the same conventions on Talk pages, both for articles and users.

Thanks a lot! -- Mithrennaith 00:24, 21 September 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

And, like the above welcome message says, you cansign your posts with "~~~~". The method you use now, inserting "[[Pand.]]", isn't working because your userpage is called User:Pand..
Also, when contributing to an article, keep the overall structure in mind. Rather than adding one sentence haphazardly in between two others, consider a rewrite, or an expansion - Fíli could definately use one.
Yours sincerely and welcome aboard, Ederchil (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 08:29, 21 September 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]
