Etymologies[edit source]

Hello Pfstrack. Many thanks for your recent work on etymologies of several Elvish names. I did revert the latest edits, though, since I found the analysis too speculative: when the added text contains mostly "probably", "perhaps", "might" and similarly, we should be cautious. As an encyclopedia, it's important that a reader can trace the source behind a statement. I found a similar problem with the name Luvailin, which appears never to have been translated by Tolkien (see Talk:Luvailin#Etymology and the related Forums:Original research, once again). I therefore posed a question at a well-known forum, in order to have a source behind the different suggestions. Let me know if you have any thoughts.--Morgan 19:23, 1 February 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
