&lt;div&gt;&#039;&#039;&#039;Mark T. Hooker&#039;&#039;&#039; is a visiting scholar at Indiana University&#039;s Russian and East European Institute (REEI). Retired, he conducts research for publication. Next to his articles in numerous Tolkien journals and &#039;&#039;[[Tolkien Studies]]&#039;&#039;, he is the author of the several books: &#039;&#039;[[Tolkien Through Russian Eyes]]&#039;&#039;, &#039;&#039;[[A Tolkienian Mathomium]]&#039;&#039; and &#039;&#039;[[The Hobbitonian Anthology]]&#039;&#039;.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
He coined the term &#039;&#039;Tolkiennymy&#039;&#039;&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;http://www.lotrplaza.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=234018&amp;amp;PID=7052966&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; to describe the study of Tolkien’s use of names from existing languages. This branch of study examines the etymologies (origins) of names such as [[Bilbo]], [[Boffin Family | Boffin]], [[The Yale]], and [[Tom Bombadil]].&lt;br /&gt;
