[[Tar-Elendil]], the fourth King of [[Númenor]], was the first King whose eldest child was a daughter, [[Silmarien]]. Being a female she could not receive the [[Sceptre of Númenor]], therefore the title of the Lords of Andúnië was created for her son.<br />
