Angbad
Deep in the Iron Mountains lay the dark fortress of Angbad (Sindarin for 'Hells Of Iron' literally meaning Iron Prison.)The Fortress of Dark Enemy(Morgoth) Located in the dark lands of Dor Daedeloth north of Beleriand created by Morgoth to ward of any attacks from Aman by the Valar and placed Souron as its Commander. But the Valar's attack suceeded in destroying Utumno completely and Captured Morgoth. But Angbad was only partially destroyed after the Valar's attack was mainly upon Utumno and over time the minions and servants of Morgoth who had survived bgan to gather in the ruined pits of Angbad awaiting their masters return.

After 3ages of imprisonment Morgoth descended upon Middle-Earth again using Angbad as his keep , he raised the volcanic Thangorodrim over the fortress as its protection he dwelt there until challenged by the Elven king Fingolfin to single combat. Morgoth then reighned over his fortress till the end of the first age when it was destroyed in the war of wrath by the Valar and Morgoth taken away in chains and cast into the void.
Gothmog is (a demon of might)a Maia spirit of the race of balrogs, no doubt the most powerful to walk Middle-earth being that he was Lord of all Balrogs in the first age answerable only to Morgoth The Dark Enemy, his master.

Gothmog was a spirit of might standing around 12feet high and weilding a mighty black axe and whip of flame. Truely Morgoth's greatest servant he held the titles of Lord of balrogs, high captain of Angbad and Marshall of the hosts. Morgoth was truely a great warrior commanding many of Morgoth's armies in many battles for example the crushing of the Noldor elves at the battlefields of Beleriand he also commanded at other battles, including Dragor-Nuin-Gilliath where he ambushes Fëanor and mortally wounds him.

Gothmog commands again at the battle of Nirnaeth Arnoediad, with a host of Orcs, Balrogs and Dragons at his side he slays Fingon, high king of the Noldor and he captures Húrin of Dol-lómin who had just slain his personal bodyguard of Battle Trolls and takes him to Angbad to his master.

He then commands (as his Title of Marshal of the hosts suggests) at the storming of Gondolin and near kills Tuor when an elf lord Ecthelion of the Fountain intervines, and Gothmog finally meets his doom as he slays Ecthelion in single combat but he himself is slain by the Elven Lord finally the Champion of Morgoth meets his demise.

                                The War Of Wrath
Toward the end of the first age the mariner Eärendil, searches and comes to Valinor, on behalf of the two kindreds of Elves and Men, begging that the Valar would pardon these two races and aid in the war against Morgoth. The Valar were moved by Earendil's plea and began to amass a huge war host to destroy Morgoth and lay waste to Angbad, the armies of Vanyar and the few remaining Noldor Elves in Aman go forth to Middle-Earth in a huge host, At the behest of Elwing, their kinswomen, the Teleri carry forth their war hast upon their mighty ships, but remain aboard their ships as they refused to land, Meanwhile the mighty host of the Valar march fourth through Beleriand And meets the host of Morgoth.

The armies of the valar lay waste to Morgoth's army of orcs and neally destroys all the Balrogs under The Dark Enemies servic, but it isn't but Elves and orcs and Maia spirits that take to the field of battle, men from the Three hoses of men, the Edain take to battle alongside the host of the valar while evil men the Easterlings that serve morgoth are either anihilated or flee to the eastern parts of Middle-Earth. The remnants of the host of Morgoth flee to Angbad with the Valar armies in quick persuit.

There Morgoth releases his last servents, a whole fleet of winged dragons fly forth and drive the host of the Valar back under the immense ferosiousnouse and strength of the fleet of dragons like nothing the host of the Valar hade ever seeb before abd the dragobs drive them back.
But then Upon his mighty ship the Vingilot Eärendil comes to the Valar's aid with the eagles of Throndor, lord of eagles and they battle withe the dragons plaguing the skies many dragons are slayed and Earendil casts dow the mightiest of Dragons Ancalagon the black a mighty fire drake who's fall lays waste to the towers of Thangorodrim. Morgoth is subdued by the Valar and wrapped in the chain Angainor. The Iron crown oh his was beaten into a collar and the Silmarils recoved by the Maia Eönwë the herald of manwë. Finally Morgoth The Dark Enemy is cast into the void.

The damage caused to Middle-Earth is massive, much of the north land west of Ered Luin is laid waste to and sinks into the sea. The River Sirion is destroyed the remaining elves of Brleriand are bidden by Ëonwë to return with him to the lands of Aman. Many do exactly that but some journey east and eventually become Lords of the remaining Noldor and Sindar Elves as well as others eastward such as the Silvan Elves. Also Gil-galad, Galadriel and Celeborn are among these elves.

After the fall of Morgoth the men of the Edain are granted the island of Andor wich would later be founded as the Realm of Númenor. However chief servant of Morgoth the sorceror Souron is not destroyed at the fall of Angbad instead rather he surrenders to Ëonwë and was summoned to Valinorto recieve judgment by the Valar but unwillingt to face the Valar he manages to flee East to the land of Mordor wich he would claim as his own alone but he doesn't flee alone so do sum dragons and balrogs with a host of orks. Souron would now harry Middle-Earth for many years truely living up to his former masters malice and would eventually create the War Of The Ring in the second and third ages.
