Hello, my name is well, I'm keeping that private. But for the sake of you guys, I'll call myself Goofy Girl. Because I am goofy and I am a girl. (Please don't look me up) I have seen the Lord of the Rings trilogy and I think it's amazing how J.R.R.Tolkien made these books up and how Peter Jackson created the movies. Anyway, I'm here to talk about Viggo Mortensen. He is an amazing man. Many people in the crew described him as funny, but insane, it's going to be so easy falling in love with this man or mad as a fish. I also happen to know that he really enjoyed himself shooting the scene where he throws an apple at Pippen's head. (They did 16 takes) He also had many accidents and one near death experience. Accident no.1: broke two of his toes and had to do that long run with Orlando Bloom and John-Rhys-Davies all having different injuries. Orlando had a broken rib and John had a knee injury. Anyway, accident no.2 :chipping a tooth in the battle of Helm's Deep; when he fell down after that massive explosion. Accident no.3: nearly drowning in the river when he was floating unconscious after falling off the cliff. Guys. Viggo and Orlando were both described as troopers.
As you all might know the tale of how Viggo Mortensen got the role of Aragorn. Well, if you didn't, you will soon. Stuart Townsend (actor) was originally cast as Aragorn, but Peter decided they needed someone older, someone who looked like an old, straggly, ranger who also looked like he was actually 87 (no offense Viggo), and who could actually do the stunts and things required.
Mark Ordesky (the producer) suggested Viggo. (Good choice Mark) And once we know Viggo as Aragorn, it's really hard to see anyone else play the role. He did such a good job, that off camera, he got called Aragorn by many crew by mistake. Viggo did most of his stunts(including dodging a real steel knife in the fellowship of the Ring when an orc misthrows a knife/dagger at him after Boromir's death) Bob Anderson trained the cast in swordfighting and he said "Viggo is the best swordsman I have ever trained." He also loved languages. He is fluent in so many and writes poems in those languages. He made the 'Aragorn's coronation' song and sang it and also sang a song in the Fellowship of the Ring that he also composed.
