I first became a fan when I saw the Lord of the Rings movies. I've read the LOTR books, the Hobbit, the Silmarillion, and I'm working on finishing The Children of Hurin. I'm still a little sketchy on the history of Arda, but with a little bit more reading/research I hope I can understand the universe that J.R.R. Tolkien created. I'm eagerly wait for the release of the film adaption(s) of The Hobbit. My hobbies include: reading, Video Gaming(Xbox 360; Xbox LIVE Gamertag: CybrRenegade and Nintendo Wii), learning about computers, practicing in playing the Ocarina(if you've played: The Legend of Zelda series,) you would know what I'm talking about, and studying history(preferred topics: Military, The American Civil War, and World War II.) I'm also a Christian, with a deep love and tolerance of the many religious faiths, including: Islam that exist in the hearts of their followers.

MattTheRanger: Thorin's Height (Movie)

Thorin is a Dwarf, who's average height is 4 to 5 feet. And yet in the movie trailer for "The Hobbit: The Unexpected Journey" the actor is portraying him looks a little taller.
