I'm a reader who fell in with Middle-earth because of Bilbo. I first read ''[[The Hobbit]]'' when I was around twelve years old. I picked up ''[[The Lord of the Rings]]'' in college, but I put it down after the chapter "The Council of Elrond" because of all the references to older tales. So, I picked up ''[[The Silmarillion]]'' and never looked back.

Beleth was two years older than her elder brother [[Baragund]] and four years older than her younger brother [[Belegund]]. After the [[Dagor Bragollach]], most women and children of the house of Bëor were forced to flee Dorthonion. No tales relate the fate of Beleth; her brothers fell with their uncle [[Barahir]] when their [[Barahir's outlaws|band of outlaws]] was betrayed.<ref name="Ruin">{{S|Fingolfin}}</ref> Through her father Bregolas, Beleth was the cousin of the renowned ''[[Beren]] the One-handed''.

Beleth's remote descendant in the [[Second Age]] was [[Beregar]], father of [[Erendis]].<ref name="WJBeor">{{WJ|14}}, ''(i) House of Bëor''.</ref> Hence, it is assumed that Beleth was married and had descendants from her unknown children.

In an early version of the House of Bëor, Beleth was the daughter of [[Boron]] and thus aunt to Bregor. In the last revision to the genealogy Beleth was moved down three generations.<ref name="WJBeor" />
