Billed as a fourth part to Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, the film premiered on 8 December 2007. The small premiere at the arthouse theater of Hilversum was covered on Dutch television.

The plot of the movie is unknown, but clips indicate that the characters sailed to Tolfalas and that there was a prince who fell under a spell.

Production
The film was conceived after one of the creators received a camera, while another was very passionate about the Peter Jackson movies. Marius wrote the script entirely by himself, and they used a map of Middle-earth to plan out a realistic travel route for the narrative and figure out how to transition between scenes logically.

The total budget of the movie was approximately €200. More than 15 children participated in the project, receiving minor assistance from their parents. Due to a shortage of actors, several cast members had to play multiple roles.

According to the creators, the most difficult part of production was a large fight scene, which had to be re-shot around 20 times due to choreography issues and roughhousing.

Grond:

Adaptation
In Middle-earth Role Playing, Caras Celairnen (S. “Town by the Brilliant Water”), also Gobel Calarnen, was a town near the junction of the rivers Lhûn and Uialduin.

A monastery of Arthadan scholars, named Tol Lamfirith (S. “Muted-voice Isle”), was located ten miles to the north. After the fall of Arthedain, it became an important hidden outpost of the Rangers of the North.

History
Early in the First Age, the Dwarves of Nogrod established a trading post at the river junction. Their fort was destroyed in aftermath of the War of Wrath. A shared need for a river port led to Gil-galad commissioning Durin's folk to rebuild the settlement as Caras Celairnen.

After the War of the Last Alliance, Círdan granted Caras Celairnen to King Valandil of Arnor, who in turn granted the settlement and its surrounding vale to his son Silivnir, who was married to an Elf. The settlement received a charter that granted it a large degree of autonomy. When the charter was renewed in 740, aligning some of its laws with Arnorian precedent, more Dúnedain moved to Caras Celairnen and became the largest part of its population.

Silivnir's descendants continued to rule the vale, though over time the town's council usurped much of their authority.
When prince Eärnur's fleet arrived at Mithlond, it was found to be too poorly connected, so forces were brought to Caras Celairnen with smaller vessels. With most rulers of Arthedain having perished, a knight of Gondor held the port for twenty years, until another heir of Silivnir was found.

During the remainder of the Third Age, Caras Celairnen remained a quiet town, mostly notable for its market where Rivermen, Dwarves, and Hobbits traded. Elves slowly withdrew from the port during this time, and ships from Gondor became rarer and rarer.

In the early Fourth Age, King Elessar elevated Curudur Silivnirion to a lord of the Reunited Kingdom, and the town began to flourish again as goods passed through on their way to Annúminas.

He created art for The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying Game and portrayed Brand for The Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game. ==History==
After completely a Zoology degree, Wootten became disillusioned with the prospect of becoming a tertiary educator of the subject and chose instead to take a design course in Christchurch, where he met Jamie Beswarick. }}In Middle-earth Role Playing, Cameth Brin (Bl. “Twisted Hill”) was a massive, fortified hill in the Trollshaws. The fortress was once the capital of Rhudaur.

History
Cameth Brin rose above Glin a-Creag (Du. “Valley of the Rock”), a fertile valley in the otherwise rocky Trollshaws. Petty-dwarves established halls in the hills. Despite the fertility of the valley, the hill was later shunned by Men because it was inhabited by evil spirits who were called the Ta-Fa-Lisch (“Ghosts of the Little People”).

In 164, a Hillman High Chief named Mong-Finn launched a rebellion against Arnor. Desperate for power, he entered Cameth Brin alone to forge an alliance with the Ta-Fa-Lisch. His rebellion failed, and the Dúnedain gained control of the hill, cleansing the spirits within. Eldacar expanded the hill into a fortress. The construction was complete in 339, after which it became the capital of the province of Rhudaur. Eldacar also had barracks constructed at the base of hill, named Tanoth Brin (Bl. “Beneath the Hill”).

When Rhudaur falls under the rule of a Hillman usurper, Cameth Brin is besieged by King Celervellon of Cardolan. In 1235, in what would later be termed the “Disaster of Cameth Brin”, Celervellon's army was surprised by Orcs from Gundabad. While the army survived, the King, his sons and other rulers were slain.

After the 18th century of the Third Age, the fortress was abandoned.
Banes of Angmar

Grond:

Adaptation
In Middle-earth Role Playing, the Banes of Angmar were a collective term for the magical blights, epidemics, diseases, and curses that afflicted Eriador between 1636 and 15. Unable to defeat the Dúnedain of Arthedain on the battlefield, the Witch-king of Angmar turned to these methods instead.

While successful in slowly wasting away the Northern Kingdom, the Banes also depleted the forces of Angmar itself. The true toll of the Banes would be paid much later: the environmental degradation left much of Eriador desolate, despite the fall of Angmar, with the land only being healed under King Elessar.

Known Banes
While the term was also often used to encompass all the supernatural tactics, such as the sending of the Barrow-wights, scholars tended to focus on plagues and afflictions. A point of contention between Arthadan and Gondorian scholars was whether the Great Plague was part of these.

Amok Curse
A rune-spell that mentally weakened its victims, and ensorcelled them to pass the rune to others. It appeared in Fornost in 1781 via forged leather-bound letters allegedly sent from Gondor, and heavily affected the Seers of Fornost. Cursed documents still showed up in treasure hordes by the time of War of the Ring.

Bloodeye Ravish
Aimed at hampering the Dúnadan cavalry, the Bloodeye ravish was spread by lice. It made horses clumsy and visually impaired, and in later stages prone to fury. It decimated half the horses in Eriador between 1968–1970, though its spread to the herds of Angmar kept the Witch-king from pressing the advantage. Its continued presence among wild animals was one of the reasons that kept the Rangers of the North on foot.

Crop and Herd Blights
These agricultural blights were frequently introduced by the Angmarrim, but plants and animals quickly developed resistances. While Arthedain was generally able to keep its people fed, the remaining blights were able to spread more easily after its fall.

Hound-fire
A form of rabies meant to defeat the Arthedan-led dog-packs that hunted down Orcs and Wolves. It was spread through magically contaminated blood, which was smuggled in sausages in the 1710s. While many dogs had to destroyed, the strongest packs were resistant. This Bane also backfired, for through ticks it wiped out half of Angmar's war-wolves. Afterwards, Hound-fire was carried by asymptomatic foxes and skunks.

Red Flux
Possibly specifically targeted at Hobbits, who were the most prosperous folk of Arthedain at the time, the Red Flux was an influenza-like illness which slew half of the Shire's population in the winters of 1889-1891 because of their overcrowded smials. It was likely spread by red-eyed undead creatures who wandered the Shire, leading to Hobbits becoming wary of strangers and starting to build above ground. The following year, it struck Fornost, where it was blamed on dark priests.

Stream Fever
A mold from the Under-deeps which was put into Eriador's waterways. It weakened the immune system of herbivores, leading to entire herds being wiped out. As a thing from the Under-deeps, it could not abide the sun. By the 25th century of the Third Age, Hobbits had figured out a way to permanently cleanse streams, which under King Elessar was deployed throughout all of Eriador.

Wood-Blights
From 1860 onward, hostile minor tree-spirits spread fungal agents that weakened trees, which contributed to the decline of Arthedain's forests.

Taurlumiel Celegsûltaur:

Völsungakviða en nýja (The New Lay of the Völsungs) or Sigurðarkviða en mesta (The Longest Lay of Sigurd) is a narrative poem written by J.R.R. Tolkien in the early 1930s. It was published posthumously in 2009 in the collection The Legend of Sigurd & Gudrún. The title, Völsungakviða en nýja, translates to "The New Lay of the Völsungs," implying a modern recreation of the lost old story.

It is a modern poem written in the Old Norse fornyrðislag meter (though in English) that reorganizes and unifies the scattered, fragmentary Völsung stories from the Poetic Edda into a single narrative. The poem tells the story of the Völsung family, starting from the stealing of Andvari’s gold, through the death of Sinfjötli, to Sigurd's life, his slaying of the dragon Fafnir, and his betrayal and death. Tolkien, as a philologist, aimed to fill the gaps in the traditional Norse materials, creating a more comprehensive narrative structured after the original Eddaic style, and drew heavily on the Völsunga saga prose to fill in details.

2007 Remaster Lyrics
<poem style="font-style:italic; margin-left:20px;">
There are signs on The Ring
Which make me feel so down
There's one to enslave all rings
To find them all in time
And drive them into darkness
Forever they'll be bound

Three for the kings
Of the elves, high in light
Nine to the mortal which cry

I'll keep The Ring for sorrow
I'll keep The Ring till I die
I'll keep The Ring for sorrow
I'll keep The Ring till I die

Slow down and I sail on the river
Slow down and I walk to the hill
Slow down and I sail on the river
Slow down and I walk to the hill
And there's no way out

Mordor (Mordor) Mordor
Threatened for a long time
Threatened for a long time

Seven rings to the dwarves
In their halls made of stone
Into the valley (Into the valley)
I feel down

One ring to the Dark Lord's hand
Sitting on his throne
In the land so dark where I have to go

I'll keep The Ring

Doom first appeared as a bonus track on the 2015 Blind Guardian album Beyond the Red Mirror. In 2018 it appeared as the first bonus track on the remaster of Blind Guardian's Tolkien-themed album Nightfall in Middle-Earth with some changed lyrics.

Lyrics
<poem style="font-style:italic; margin-left:20px;">
How did I get here
What will I find here
The field is lost
All hope's now gone

I understand
There is no chance
The curse lives on
My children mourn

You'll be with me
For a long time
This place
You won't leave it
No more

Forever
Forever
No

I'm wondering
Who is it for
There's nothing more
I won this war
Dared Valinor

You won't enter
You're deceived
They've sealed the secret place
Out

And day won't come again
No

So there's no relief
When truth shall be revealed
By now you know the answer
So there's no relief
But deceit

Abandoned, forgotten, deceived
Wherever they may roam
So faithful, so loyal
Still no one will come
You're alone

Don't call it destiny

[Chorus]
We will remember
Skies may fade
And stars may wane
We won't forget
And your light shines bright
Yes, so much brighter
Shine on
We will remember
Until the skies will fall
We won't forget
We will remember
We all shall follow
Doom

It's going down
Going down
And there's nothing
You can do

Look into my eyes
(And see)
Your seed it may grow
This is no vision
It's the curse
You'll be deceived
I set upon your kin

Their cries shall come true
It shall be me
You blame
Now watch and see
I'll set doom
Upon you
Your offspring shall bloom
Wherever they may roam
I'll bind them
I'll split them
In solitude
Sorrow shall grow
Unknown

[Chorus]

If that's your choice
Your descendants
They wish
They have never been born
Redeem the oath
And pay the price
If you want

Here on these fields
Where truth shall be revealed
In doom you'll find the answers
Still there's no release
You shall feel

Let's face it
Since everything's shown
You've been through this alone
The deeper the wounds
So much greater the sorrows will grow
There is no sense in it

[Chorus]
</poem>
The Tides of War is the third bonus track off of the 2018 Remaster/re-release of Blind Guardian's Tolkien-themed album, Nightfall in Middle-Earth.
Lyrics
<poem style="font-style:italic; margin-left:20px;">
Call the wind, I hail thee
But sail on through the storm
There's fire in my mind, fire in my mind
Fire in my mind, fire in my mind

There's no escape
And there's no return
The blood and smoke behind us
It's now out of sight
Tears you might be crying
But it's over now
For a higher cause we've come
So just keep your hate alive

The tides of war (the tides of war)
We've come to face it in these lands
We've come to face it in these lands
The Curse of Fëanor

No sorrow, no loss I count the ones behind
Come follow, don't turn your back and let 'em whine
The grief is real, the pain I feel
It's not what I've been longing for
They shall be free, they'll be released
They can't get over the sea

They were following in vain
Burning vessels, burning hope
Needless baggage on the road
Let 'em curse me, let 'em blame
They may have faced their journey's end

Boats at distant shore they burn
The wind still carries smoke
In Araman we've seen Teleri's work on fire
Across the ice, aflamed
To take revenge, ashamed
Betrayed by the insane Fëanor

You've gone too far, you've come to fail
Fëanor
All done in vain, by the oath
You delivered our doom

The tides of war (the tides of war)
We've come to face it in these lands
We've come to face it in these lands
The Curse of Fëanor

Boats at distant shore they burn
The wind still carries smoke
In Araman we've seen Teleri's work on fire
Across the ice, aflamed
To take revenge, ashamed
Betrayed by the insane Fëanor

We've gone too far, we've come to fail
Fëanor
Yet we have reached the promised land
Oh, Fëanor

The tides of war (the tides of war)
We've come to face it in these lands
We've come to face it in these lands

Lindenroot is an original creation for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers film.

History
Lindenroot was an Ent shepherd. He was considered well-founded and considerate.

Late in the Third Age, an Entmoot was called to decide whether the Ents would go to war with Saruman the White and the forces of Isengard. Lindenroot entered Derndingle, the location of the Entmoot, walking on the right of Birchseed. Among the Ents in attendance were Lindenroot, Treebeard, Birchseed, Quickbeam, Skinbark and Leaflock.

The Entmoot commenced and the Ents communicated in Old Entish. They greeted each other with "Good morning" and agreed that Meriadoc Brandybuck and Peregrin Took, two small beings found by Treebeard were not Orcs. Merry tried to hurry the Entmoot, as Old Entish was a very slow language compared to the Westron spoken by Hobbits. Eventually, the Ents decided they could not hold back Saruman and it was a better course of action to remain impartial. Treebeard remarked that it was not their war. Merry protested asking "You're part of this world! Aren't you?". The Ents looked at each other, unsure. Merry pleaded for their help but Treebeard told him that their part in the tale was over.

While Treebeard walked Merry and Pippin to the edge of the forest, Merry asked him to take him past Isengard. When Treebeard saw the trees and plants near Isengard decimated by Saruman for supplies, he cried out in pain, calling the Ents. Lindenroot and the other Ents began marching toward Isengard. Treebeard proclaimed "The Ents are going to war" and that, as it was unlikely they'd survive, it was the "last march of the Ents".

The Ents assailed Isengard, fighting the defending Uruk-hai off as Saruman watched from Orthanc in terror. Treebeard ordered some Ents to break the dam, which released the river into Isengard, washing away the Uruks. The Ents achieved victory in the battle and became the new caretakers of Isengard.
}}In Middle-earth Role Playing, the Berninga (singular Berning, For. “Bear-descendants”) were a tribe of Northmen who originated from the Misty Mountains, but had been driven towards Talath Uichel in Forodwaith by Orcs and Evil Men. Their ancestors had had formed a covenant with the bear-clans who taught them skinchanging.

Normally a rather solitary people living in isolated manors, the harsh conditions of the Northern Waste had brought the Berninga closer together: out of necessity they lived in lodges near each-other and elected chieftains.

Despite being separated from the bear-clans of the Misty Mountains, they maintained their covenant by not eating meat, avoiding fur and hide, and caring for all animals. In that way, they too ultimately contributed to the healing of the Waste from Morgoth's taint.

History
After the Berninga had been driven away from the Vales of Anduin by the troubles that preceded the rise of the Witch-king, their chieftain Benabalth built a towered fortress, Bernastath, on the banks of the river Everhir between Talath Uichel and the Herd Tundra. Its lords maintained good relationships with the Lumimiehet, often fighting Orcs together.

As the Witch-king sought to consolidate the northern frontier of Angmar, the Lumimiehet treated his emissaries as indifferently as they had Arthedain's in the past, while the Berninga refused to treat at all. In response, Orcs and sled-warriors besieged Bernastath. Despite many calls for aid, the Lumimiehet were persuaded by a shaman who had been enthralled by the Witch-king to stay away. Bernastath was burned to the ground, and Bernabalth's descendants grew estranged from the Lumimiehet. Those Lumimiehet and their shaman were slaughtered by the same horde soon after.

The Berninga survivors wandered until 1310, when they founded Ligr Wodaize Berne (For. “Den of Wrathful Bears”) near Bear Lake.

By 1640, Raudabern was the chieftain of the Berninga in Forodwaith. His family still carried a grudge against the Lossoth, and preferred to deal with Umli and Dwarves. The red-haired giant of a man had an affinity with animals, but neither he nor his daughter Isarnabloma had the ability to skinchange. His son Sprautabern did, however.

After the Fall of Angmar, the Berninga were finally able to depart the Northern Waste. They eventually become the Beornings.
Birchseed was an Ent who attended the final Entmoot of the Third Age and fought in the Battle of Isengard.

Birchseed is an original creation for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers film.

History
Birchseed was a tall and slender Ent. As a royal statesman, he presided over many Entmoots.

Late in the Third Age, an Entmoot was called to decide whether the Ents would go to war with Saruman the White and the forces of Isengard. Birchseed entered Derndingle, the location of the Entmoot, walking on the left of Lindenroot. Among the Ents in attendance were Birchseed, Treebeard, Lindenroot, Quickbeam, Skinbark and Leaflock.

Birchseed and the other Ents began marching toward Isengard. Treebeard proclaimed "The Ents are going to war" and that, as it was unlikely they'd survive, it was the "last march of the Ents".

The Ents assailed Isengard, fighting the defending Uruk-hai off as Saruman watched from Orthanc in terror. Birchseed crushed an Uruk with his foot. Treebeard ordered some Ents to break the dam, which released the river into Isengard, washing away the Uruks. The Ents achieved victory in the battle and became the new caretakers of Isengard.
