Adelard Took was a Hobbit of the Shire.

History

Adelard was the son of Flambard Took, and had five children; three daughters and two sons. His sons were Reginard and Everard. They were all present at Bilbo's Farewell Party in S.R. 1401.[1] The next morning, he received an umbrella as a parting gift from Bilbo.[2]

Etymology

Adelard (lit. noble-hard) comes from a Teutonic word meaning "resolute" or "courageous".
