William "Bill" J. C. Amend III (September 20, 1962) is an American cartoonist with a major in physics at Amherst College. He is famed for FoxTrot, which appeared in papers daily until 2006 (and weekly after that). Along with influences from Star Wars and Star Trek, many references to Tolkien's works are made.
