Blotmath (pronounced Blodmath or Blommath) was the eleventh month of the Shire Calendar, approximately corresponding to modern 22 October through 20 November. It was called Blooting in Bree.[1]
Etymology
The name represents a modernisation of the Old English name for November, Blotmonað , meaning "blood-month".[2]
