Everholt was the name the Rohirrim gave to a section of the Firien Wood. It was notorious for its boar, after which the forest was named.[1]

Etymology

The name means "boar-wood". The first element comes from Old English eofor, "boar". The second element appears also in Dimholt.

Eofor is also a Rohanese name.
