Faniel was the third daughter of Finwë and Indis in an apparently discarded concept of the legendarium. She had two brothers, Fingolfin and Finarfin, and two sisters, Findis and Finvain. She did not leave Valinor during the Flight of the Noldor.
Faniel was a Quenya name comprised of an unknown element and -iel ("daughter, feminine suffix").
