Fastred, with Folcred, was one of the twin sons of Folcwine of Rohan.
History
When the Haradrim invaded Ithilien of Gondor, King Folcwine sent his sons along with many Rohirrim to the aid of Steward Túrin II, upholding the Oath of Eorl. Fastred and his brother both were slain before the victory at the Crossings of Poros. The Rohirrim buried them where they fell, in the fashion of their people, putting them in a single mound being twins. The mound was called Haudh in Gwanûr, the Mound of the Twins.[2][3][4]
Etymology
Fastred in Old English means "fast-rede, firm-counsel".[5]
